Singer-songwriter and artist Medium Build (Nicholas Carpenter) is touring his fifth studio album, The King of Having Fun, and will be performing at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, November 20th. Having studied songwriting in Nashville, his sound centers around indie rock and alternative Americana. Opening for him is 22-year-old Nashville native Eden Joel, who specializes in a unique blend of indie coastal pop and Southern rock.
Carpenter released his debut album Falling Apart in 2016. He followed up with Softboy and Roughboy, both in 2018, and Wild, his fourth album, in 2019. In 2022, Carpenter performed with Briston Maroney during the All Aboard Tour. Carpenter first charted in 2023 with "Friend for Life", a collaboration with X Ambassadors. He has also collaborated and toured with artists such as Tyler Childers, Lewis Capaldi, and Julien Baker.
From busking on street corners as a kid to writing and recording songs in his bedroom, Eden Joel spent years developing a sound that’s entirely his own. Over the past three years, he’s played shows as a touring musician with artists like Stephen Sanchez, Briston Maroney, and Mercury——all while quietly shaping his solo project and collaborating as a producer with Nashville peers.
