Country music has always had a way of telling the hard truths—and Carson Beyer is doing just that with his striking new single, “The Truth,” which released on Friday, May 9, 2025. Co-written with Prescott Harter and John Haywood and co-produced by Beyer alongside ACM-nominated guitarist Sol Philcox-Littlefield, the track is a gritty, gospel-tinged country song that’s as raw as it is powerful.
But this isn’t just another country ballad. Beyer flips the script and gives a voice to truth itself. “‘The Truth’ was written from the perspective of Truth itself — what it might say if it had a voice,” he explains. “It wrestles with the idea that the truth is always there and impossible to outrun.” That powerful premise is matched by the song’s production, which blends traditional country soul with haunting gospel influences. Anchored by Beyer’s smooth, soulful vocals and the atmospheric guitar work of Philcox-Littlefield, it’s a modern country standout.
Raised on a working farm in Paducah, Kentucky, Beyer brings a lived-in authenticity to his music, blending traditional values with a contemporary mindset. It’s a balance he’s perfected across his rising career — especially with “Bones,” his 2024 breakout hit that has racked up over 4 million Spotify streams and introduced fans to his unique sonic fusion of ‘90s country grit and R&B soul. With “The Truth,” Beyer sharpens his storytelling even further, leaning into introspection while still keeping things radio-ready and relatable.
The single features a stacked lineup of collaborators, including legendary songwriter Mark Narmore ("That’s What I Love About Sundays"), engineer Richard Bennett, mix engineer Austin Stanley, and mastering by Nathan Dantzler.
With his Muscle Shoals-recorded project now underway, Beyer is proving he’s more than just a smooth voice — he’s a storyteller with something to say. And with “The Truth,” he’s making sure we all stop and listen.
